Roadside bomb leaves 11 civilians dead

At least 11 civilians, including woman and children, were killed as a result of roadside bomb blast in the Achin district of eastern Nangarhar province on Sunday, an official said.

Attaullah Khogyani, the governor’s spokesman, told Pajhwok Afghan News that the blast took place in the Momand Dara area of the district at around 11am.

He said 11 civilians were killed, including a woman and six children, after their vehicle struck a roadside mine. Investigation has been launched into the incident.

There was no immediate claim of responsibility for the blast.
