A major fire broke out at a fuel station in the north of Kabul on Saturday evening, reportedly leaving heavy damage to the area.
Eyewitnesses said that fuel trucks that were waiting in a line to enter the city of Kabul also caught fire one by one.
The Ministry of Interior Affairs confirmed the incident and said the fire broke out at a fuel station in Kabul’s District 17.
Videos on social media show that fire increases and fuel tankers catch fire one by one.
Interior Affairs spokesman Tariq Arian said the fire started at a fuel station in the Qala-e-Murad Bek area along the main highway that connects Kabul with northern provinces.
He said that efforts have started to distinguish the fire.
The power supply to many parts of Kabul was disconnected shortly after the incident.
