COVID-19 Latest: 96 of 478 Cases Test Positive in Afghanistan

The Ministry of Public Health on Monday reported 96 new cases of the coronavirus out of 478 samples tested over the last 24 hours.     

So far, 105,053 samples have been tested in government centers and there are 6,522 known active COVID-19 cases in the country, according to data from the Ministry of Public Health.

In the last 24 hours, the ministry also reported three new deaths from COVID-19 and 20 recoveries.

The number of total cases is now 38,494, the total reported deaths is 1,415, and the total recoveries is 30,557.

The cases were reported in Balkh (56), Kabul (8), Herat (7), Kandahar (2), Nangarhar (2), Baghlan (2), Daikundi (7), Ghazni (7), Nimruz (1), Ghor (5) and Helmand (2) provinces.

The number of deaths from COVID-19 globally is more than 883,590 and the number of global coronavirus cases is 27,120,608, according to Johns Hopkins University.
