The Ministry of Public Health on Tuesday reported 324 new positive cases of the coronavirus from 953 samples tested over the last 24 hours.
So far, 66,800 samples have been tested in the government’s testing centers and there are 19,603 active COVID-19 cases in the country, according to data by the Ministry of Public Health.
In the last 24 hours, the ministry also reported 20 new deaths from COVID-19 and 419 recoveries. With this, the total cases are now 29,481, the total reported deaths are 618, and total recoveries are 9,260.
The highest count was reported in Herat with 98, followed by Kabul (92 cases), Balkh (40), Paktia (18), Nangarhar (4), Ghazni (39), Badakhshan (19), Laghman (10), Kunar (3) and Zabul (1).
Also, the ministry reported 5 COVID-19 deaths in Balkh, 6 in Logar, 5 in Badakhshan, two in Kabul, one in Paktia and one in Nangarhar in the last 24 hours.
The number of deaths from COVID-19 globally is more than 472,172 and the number of global coronavirus cases is 9,098,855, according to Johns Hopkins University.
