Sayed Munir, head of Kapisa’s traffic department, was shot dead by unknown gunmen on Monday morning in the provincial center, police officials said.
The incident happened in Qala-e-Sayed Khan village in Kapisa city, while Munir was on his way to his office, according to the police.
After the incident, dozens came out to demand an investigation and that suspects be brought to justice.
The protestors lit fires on the street and blocked a road.
Police said an investigation is ongoing.
No group has claimed responsibility for the attack.
