The United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) has suspended the voluntary repatriation of Afghan refugees from Pakistan.
The UN-assisted refugee repatriation is suspended between December and February when the mercury drastically falls in many parts of Afghanistan.
UNHCR spokesperson Qaisar Afridi confirmed the process had been suspended due to cold weather. Between December 2019 and February 2020, encashment centers will remain shut.
