Six Daesh or Islamic State (IS) militants have been killed in the National Directorate of Security (NDS) personnel operation in eastern Kunar province, an official said on Monday.
Governor Spokesman Abdul Ghani Musamim told Pajhwok Afghan News the operation was conducted in the Chmbel locality of Chawkai district on Sunday night.
He said two important bases of Daesh and a cache of weapons was also destroyed in the overnight raid.
Security personnel and civilians suffered no casualties in the operations, he added.
