56 New COVID-19 Cases in Afghanistan, Total 423

The Ministry of Public Health announced on Tuesday that 56 new positive coronavirus cases were registered in the country in the past 24 hours.

Positive coronavirus cases recorded in Afghanistan over the past 24 hours: Herat (27), Kabul (12), Kandahar (10), Balkh (5) and Nangarhar (2).

Out of 140 samples tested for COVID-19 in past 24 hours, 27 were positive (21 men and 6 women), a spokesman for the provincial health department said on Tuesday.

The total cases in Herat is 257.

With this, the total number of positive cases in Afghanistan is 423.

At least 11 people are reported dead from coronavirus in Afghanistan, and 18 others have recovered.

74,808 people have died of coronavirus across the world so far, according to Johns Hopkins University (jhu.edu).

Johns Hopkins, founded in 1876, is America’s first research university and home to nine world-class academic divisions working together as one university(jhu.edu).

The number of confirmed cases across more than 180 countries has risen to 1,347,892, according to JHU, and 284,802 people have recovered so far.
