After hours of prolonged negotiations in Islamabad, the capital of Pakistan, US Vice President JD Vance announced that no agreement had been reached with Iran.
Speaking at a press conference, Vance said, “We did not reach an agreement because they did not accept our terms.” He added that the two sides held 21 hours of talks, describing the discussions as substantive, but noted that they ultimately failed to produce a deal.
Vance further stated that the consequences of this failure would be more negative for Iran than for the United States, emphasizing that the negotiations were “not successful.”
According to him, the US delegation will return to Washington, D.C.
