The construction work on the road extended to the Mes Aynak mine in Logar province is nearing completion. This road, which is 13.12 kilometers long and 12 meters wide, not only facilitates the transportation activities of the MCC company but also provides numerous conveniences to residents of the area.
The road to Logar Mes Aynak mine, which is being constructed in a standard and fundamental manner, has the capacity to withstand 40 tons of weight. Along the length of the road, a 56-meter fundamental bridge has also been built over the Logar River. The residents of the area express their happiness about the road’s construction, saying that it has provided them with many facilities in terms of daily commuting, goods transportation, and access to health and educational services.
Khan Wali Ahmadzai, a resident of Logar province, says that this standard road connecting to the Mes Aynak mine is highly valuable. He adds:
“Its value lies in the fact that, economically speaking, a national project at the country level is now connected by a road built to international standards. In addition, the villages around the mine, which previously faced many difficulties and had dirt roads, are now connected to a paved road, making transportation much easier for them. The third significant value is that, both at the national level and for Logar province specifically, this newly constructed road is set to host a joint trade market between China and Afghanistan. With the establishment of this market, not only the Afghanistan’s economy will strengthen, but thousands of job opportunities will also be created for unemployed people in Logar province.”
Among the residents of the area, Mohammad Edris says:
“I feel immense happiness over the construction of this road because this project marks the beginning of a new life for our region. For years, we faced numerous problems due to non-standard roads. Children had to pass through dangerous paths to reach school, patients couldn’t be transported to hospitals on time, and our economic situation suffered due to limited transportation options. Now, this road has opened a clear path to resolve all these issues.”
Bilal Ahmad, another young resident of the area, shares his thoughts about the road construction extended to the Mes Aynak mine. He says that the economic value of this road is also unparalleled. He adds:
“Not only the commercial activities in the region have increased, but many local people have also found employment opportunities through this project, which is itself an important step against unemployment. This project is considered a major national initiative for community development, and we should all welcome it. I hope more such projects come to our region because such developmental, economic, and national initiatives bring people closer to the government, foster trust, and lay the foundation for a brighter future of the country.”
The road to Logar Mes Aynak mine, which its construction is nearing completion, is being built at a cost of 7 million USD. It is worth mentioning that during the construction process, employment opportunities were provided to 300 residents of that area.
