The Khost Municipality has announced the launch of a two-kilometer road construction project valued at 29.5 million Afghanis.
Mayor Mufti Shehzad Noor Rashid told Bakhtar News Agency that work has begun on the second lane of the Khost–Kabul main road, covering 1,961 meters from the Kabaarsaray area to Mata Chena, funded through the municipality’s development budget at a total cost of 29,532,481 Afghanis. The project is expected to be completed and opened for public use within six months.
He stated that the road will be constructed to a solid and durable standard, which is expected to ease traffic congestion on the Khost–Kabul route and enhance the city’s appearance.
The mayor added that additional projects will be implemented based on public demand to further improve transportation access for residents.
The project has also provided employment opportunities for a number of people.
