Hafiz Mohammad Agha Hakim, Governor of Panjshir, discussed attracting investment and implementing development projects during a meeting with Mardof Al-Qashouti, Qatar’s Ambassador to Afghanistan.
Saifuddin Laton, spokesperson for the Panjshir governor, told Bakhtar News Agency that Zakir Jalali, Director-General for Political Affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, was also present at the meeting.
Panjshir governor described the strong relations between Afghanistan and Qatar as important and effective and expressed appreciation for Qatar’s support and cooperation during difficult times in the past.
The Panjshir governor provided information on the province’s capacities and needs in the areas of agriculture, trade, infrastructure, education, healthcare, industry, tourism, and mining, and emphasized the need to attract investment and implement development projects in Panjshir.
He added that Panjshir has significant potential in horticulture and that the province’s products, including apples, cherries, and grapes, could provide opportunities for investment in fruit processing, packaging, and marketing.
During the meeting, Qatar’s ambassador also described Panjshir as having significant natural and economic potential. He said Qatar is committed to implementing various projects and programs in the province and expressed his country’s readiness to invest in the processing of fresh and dried fruits produced in Panjshir.
It is worth noting that the Qatari ambassador’s visit to Panjshir was part of the local administration’s efforts to expand relations with friendly countries, attract investment, and implement development projects.
