Public Works Minister Mullah Mohammad Isa Sani has directed officials to demolish and rebuild sections of road projects in Logar province that were constructed with substandard materials, in order to bring them into compliance with engineering standards.

In a statement today, the Ministry of Public Works said Sani inspected several ongoing projects during a visit to the province, including the 31-kilometer Logar–Maidan Wardak road, the three-kilometer Pul-e Alam–Logar University road, and the 32-kilometer Khizr–Badkhwab Roghani–Do Sheikh–Baraki Rajan–Pul-e Dabar road.

During the inspection, the minister said the use of inferior stone in some retaining walls and poor-quality gravel in road surfacing violated engineering and road-construction standards. He instructed project teams and contractors to demolish the affected sections and rebuild them with high-quality, standard-compliant materials.

Sani also emphasized the importance of completing the projects on time and urged officials to ensure that work meets higher standards and follows the approved schedule.

Representatives of the contracting companies pledged to demolish and rebuild the substandard sections and to complete the remaining work within the stipulated timeframe using quality materials.

The Ministry of Public Works said it will continue to monitor and evaluate transport infrastructure projects to ensure construction quality and facilitate safe, convenient travel for citizens.
