A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) has been signed between the Balkh Chamber of Commerce and Investment and Iranian pharmaceutical companies in Mazar-i-Sharif. This collaboration focuses on pharmaceutical production and import.
The agreement aims to strengthen the regional pharmaceutical market, facilitate the exchange of technical information, and lay the groundwork for establishing a pharmaceutical manufacturing facility in Balkh province.
Haroon-Rashid Qazi, the acting head of the Balkh Chamber of Commerce, stated that the agreement provides a framework for joint cooperation in drug production and supply. He emphasized that this is a significant step towards achieving pharmaceutical self-sufficiency in northern Afghanistan.
Officials from the Iranian pharmaceutical firms committed to supplying high-quality products at competitive prices to the Balkh market while also promising technical collaboration with local manufacturers.
Sadiq Mohammadi, head of the Balkh Pharmacists’ Union, hailed the agreement as a positive advancement for health services, noting that this cooperation will help meet the pharmaceutical needs of Balkh and its neighboring provinces.
