For the first time, emeralds extracted from mines in Panjshir Province will be put up for auction on Thursday, October 29, 2026, at the Afghanistan International Exhibition Center in Chaman-e-Hozori, Kabul.
Mawlavi Mohammad Qasim Amiri, head of the Panjshir Department of Mines and Petroleum, said the auction would take place as part of Afghanistan’s first specialized mining exhibition. He said the event aims to showcase Panjshir’s emeralds, highlight the province’s mining potential, and promote competition among traders, buyers, and investors.
He added that three licensed professional miners who have extracted emeralds from Panjshir’s mines would participate in the auction. Samples of precious and semi-precious stones extracted from the province’s mines will also be displayed at the exhibition.
