Zabihullah Mujahid has announced that special military circles of Pakistan have once again violated Afghanistan’s airspace and targeted parts of the country with airstrikes. According to him, the attacks were carried out late at night in the provinces of Nangarhar and Paktika, resulting in dozens of civilian casualties, including women and children.
Local sources in Nangarhar province stated that in the Gurdai Kach area of Behsud district, Pakistani aircraft bombed the house of a civilian named Shahabuddin. Based on information from these sources, a large number of local residents lost their lives in the attack. Local media reported that efforts to recover approximately 23 individuals from under the rubble are still ongoing.
Reports and videos circulating on social media also indicate that in the Barmal district of Paktika province, casualties and damage were inflicted on civilians following fresh attacks by Pakistani forces.
The Ministry of National Defense of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, in a statement, described the strikes as a continuation of previous acts of aggression and said that Pakistani forces carried out airstrikes in several civilian areas of Nangarhar and Paktika provinces, including a religious madrasa and multiple residential houses. The statement said that dozens of innocent civilians, including women and children, were killed and injured in these attacks.
The Ministry strongly condemned the action, calling it a clear violation of Afghanistan’s national sovereignty and contrary to international law, principles of good neighborliness, and Islamic values. The statement emphasized that defending the country’s sovereignty and ensuring the security of its people is a religious and national responsibility, and warned that an appropriate and calculated response will be given at the appropriate time.
Meanwhile, Abdul Salam Zaeef, former ambassador of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan to Pakistan, described the recent attacks as a violation of Afghanistan’s sovereignty and a “unjust and cowardly act.” He stated that Pakistan is targeting innocent people to conceal its internal failures and evade its responsibilities.
As of the time of publishing this report, Pakistani authorities have not issued any official response regarding the alleged attacks.
