Over 3,000 carats of Panjshir emeralds, worth over 139,000 US dollars, have been sold.
Local officials in Panjshir have announced the sale of 3,208 carats of emeralds, worth 139,400 US dollars, to domestic traders.
Saifuddin Latun, spokesperson for the Panjshir governor, stated that 3,208 carats of emeralds, worth 139,400 US dollars, were sold through auction to domestic traders in the presence of a mining protection committee.
According to him, the auction is considered an effective step toward increasing revenues, creating employment opportunities, and introducing Panjshir emeralds to international markets.
