The National Statistics and Information Authority (NSIA) announced that more than 28,000 entries and exits of foreign nationals were recorded during the last solar year 1404.
According to a press release, a total of 28,474 movements of foreign tourists were documented through both airports and land ports. Of these, 16,276 foreign nationals—including 728 women—entered Afghanistan, while 12,198—including 158 women—departed the country.
The data shows that 16,090 foreign nationals entered via land ports and 182 by air. Among the entrants, 2,369 came to visit Afghanistan’s ancient and historical sites, 115 for education, and 13,792 for employment.
The highest volume of foreign arrivals was through the Silk Road port in Nimroz, with 10,450 entries. Other major entry points included Herat’s ports and airport (3,648), the Aqina port in Faryab (832), the Torkham crossing (814), and smaller numbers through the Hairatan port and Balkh airport.
