Mullah Hidayatullah Badri, Afghanistan’s Minister of Mines and Petroleum, met with the Ambassador of Turkmenistan in Kabul to emphasize the urgent need to accelerate the implementation of the TAPI (Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India) gas pipeline project.
According to a statement from the Ministry’s press office, the meeting highlighted the longstanding, friendly relations between Afghanistan and Turkmenistan. Both sides exchanged views on expanding and enhancing joint cooperation, particularly concerning the TAPI project.
The Turkmen Ambassador expressed gratitude for the hospitality of the ministry’s leadership and provided updates on the progress made so far, as well as future plans for the TAPI project.
Minister Badri welcomed the project’s achievements and expressed satisfaction with its progress. He underscored the importance of job creation for Afghans and emphasized the need for comprehensive cooperation.
At the conclusion of the meeting, both sides reaffirmed their commitment to accelerating work on the TAPI project and expressed hope that the Herat section will be completed by the end of the current year.
