Mullah Hedayatullah Badri, Minister of Mines and Petroleum, emphasized the need to accelerate construction work, ensure adherence to technical standards, and complete the Safwan Cement Factory project in Parwan province within the scheduled timeframe during his visit to the project site.
According to a statement issued by the Ministry of Mines and Petroleum, Mullah Hedayatullah Badri inspected various sections of the factory, reviewed the progress of construction work, and assessed the project’s implementation and planned production capacity.
He stressed the importance of completing the project on schedule to strengthen domestic production and support the development of Afghanistan’s cement industry.
Meanwhile, the project manager presented a progress report on the construction work, stating that once operational, the Safwan Cement Factory will produce between 5,000 and 9,000 tons of cement per day.
He added that the factory is expected to create employment opportunities for approximately 5,000 people, both directly and indirectly. The project is also expected to increase domestic cement production, reduce dependence on imports, and contribute to economic growth.
