During a recent meeting with representatives from construction and road-building contracting companies, the Mayor of Kabul underscored the necessity of adhering to timelines and quality standards for ongoing projects.
According to Kabul Municipality, contracting representatives shared their challenges and proposals during the discussion. The Mayor listened attentively and directed relevant officials to address these issues promptly.
He stated that violations, project delays, and substandard work are unacceptable to citizens and will be met with serious repercussions by the leadership of Kabul Municipality. The Mayor warned that any observed negligence could result in the termination of contracts with offending companies.
The Mayor insisted that road construction must be executed with honesty, transparency, and responsibility. Contracting companies are required to complete projects according to approved designs and technical documents, maintaining adherence to all quality standards.
He emphasized that no individual or company should waste public funds or development opportunities through poor workmanship. Additionally, he highlighted the importance of managing projects on busy urban routes through multiple work shifts to minimize inconvenience for citizens. Strict adherence to safety measures, including water sprinkling and the proper transportation of excess materials, is essential during construction to meet protective standards.
The Mayor concluded by stating that high-quality construction lays the groundwork for orderly and sustainable urban growth in Kabul. He assured that Kabul Municipality will continue to monitor and control the progress of city-level projects to align development with citizens’ expectations and safeguard public assets.
