Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs Meets UN High Commissioner for Refugees

Afghanistan’s Office of the Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs has announced that Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar met with the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), Barham Saleh, in Kabul. The meeting focused on the situation of Afghan refugees, humanitarian and development assistance for returnees, and future cooperation. According to the office, Mullah Baradar urged the United Nations to direct more of its assistance toward development projects. Barham Saleh reaffirmed his commitment to intensifying efforts to mobilize international support for Afghanistan.
