Sheikh Abdul Rahman Munir, the Deputy Minister of Counter-Narcotics at the Ministry of Interior Affairs, recently met with Dmitry Zhirnov, the Russian Ambassador to Kabul.
During their meeting, Sheikh Abdul Rahman Munir mentioned drugs as a serious global issue. He emphasized the urgent need for extensive international cooperation to effectively combat drug trafficking.
Deputy Munir expressed the expectation that countries worldwide, mainly Russia, would cooperate comprehensively in developing alternative livelihoods for farmers and supporting other sectors affected by the narcotics trade.
The Russian Ambassador acknowledged the efforts of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan in addressing drug-related challenges. Both officials reiterated the importance of strengthening joint cooperation in the fight against narcotics.
