Afghanistan’s Foreign Minister, Mawlawi Amir Khan Muttaqi, held a phone conversation with Dr. Mohammed bin Abdulaziz Al-Khulaifi, Minister of State at Qatar’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
According to a statement, Muttaqi strongly condemned Israel’s recent strike on Qatari territory and assured that the Afghan people and government stand with Qatar in this sensitive moment.
He said that after nearly two years of ongoing massacres in Gaza, the attack on the Palestinian negotiating delegation in Doha represents a clear violation of international law, norms, and values, and undermines peace efforts.
Al-Khulaifi thanked Afghanistan for its stance, calling it a symbol of brotherhood, and explained Qatar’s mediation policy between Hamas and Israel. He said the attack occurred as the Palestinian delegation was discussing a ceasefire proposal, making it an assault on peace efforts themselves.
Muttaqi emphasized that Islamic countries must adopt a united and meaningful position against Israel.
