The Afghanistan’s Consul General in Mashhad, Mawlavi Noor Mohammad Motawakel, visited South Khorasan province, Iran, to address the issues facing Afghan refugees and to enhance economic cooperation between regions.
During his visit, Motawakel met with Mohammad Reza Hashemi, the governor of South Khorasan, and Afsaneh Ebrahimi, head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ South Khorasan office.
The discussions centered on finding solutions to the challenges faced by Afghan refugees in the province, as well as on strengthening economic and trade ties between Farah and South Khorasan.
In addition to these meetings, Motawakel visited Afghan prisoners at Birjand Central Prison to hear their concerns firsthand.
He also participated in the eighth meeting of the province’s Export Development Working Group and the Border Trade Regulation Council, underlining his commitment to fostering collaboration and addressing the pressing needs of the Afghan community in the region.
