The Afghanistan Chamber of Commerce and Investment announced that officials of the chamber and a high-level Uzbek delegation reaffirmed their joint commitment to achieving the $5 billion bilateral trade target during a meeting in Kabul.
According to a statement issued by the chamber, Sayed Karim Hashemi, head of the Afghanistan Chamber of Commerce and Investment, met with Jamshed Khodjaev, Deputy Prime Minister of Uzbekistan, and his accompanying delegation.
During the meeting, the two sides discussed expanding bilateral cooperation in trade, investment, transit, and economic ties between Afghanistan and Uzbekistan.
The discussions also focused on increasing bilateral trade, exchanging business delegations, granting preferential tariffs for Afghan exports, and strengthening private-sector partnerships and cooperation.
