National Security Advisor (NSA) Dr. Hamdullah Mohib says a new unit will be set up to combat kidnappings and organized crime in western Herat province.

During his trip to the province, the NSA met local authorities in Qala-i-Ikhtiaruddin and said a unit would be created to fight kidnappers and organized crime in the province.

Referring to the reconciliation process, he said: “Peace is the only way to attain stability and any element impeding stability is unacceptable to the people of Afghanistan.”

He added transparent and free election were also the only option to resolve the problems of the Afghans.

In a session with 207th Zafar Military Corps officials, he said: “The enemies of Afghanistan don’t respect religious and Islamic values and always target innocent people.

“But the Afghans want peace with honor and the enemies are afraid of a powerful system, our heroic security and defense forces are fighting to eliminate any kind of threat.”

Corruption and corrupt people are also the enemies of Afghanistan and they would be punished, according to the NSA, “It’s an honor for me that the Afghan security forces defend Afghanistan’s sovereignty.”

Security officials shared their achievements, challenges and issues with the NSA, who was also briefed on the security situation.

The Zafar Military Corps officials said the militants had failed in their sinister designs and the security forces had prevented their activities in the process.
