Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Dr. Abdullah on Monday called a comprehensive peace agreement a longstanding ambition of the nation.

At a meeting with NATO Commander Gen. Scott Miller in Kabul, the CEO praised international allies for their continued support to Afghanistan.

A statement from Abdullah’s office quoted Gen. Miller as reaffirming the coalition’s support for the ongoing peace efforts in Afghanistan.

The coalition, while continuing to support Afghan armed forces and the national unity government, would push ahead with counter-terrorism operations.

Miller added that Afghanistan, the United States and NATO had a strong relationship based on common values and shared interests.
