A total of 800 kilograms of emeralds have been sold for 150.609 million Afghanis at an auction in Kunar Province.
Mawlavi Mohammad Shirin Haqqani, Director of Mines and Petroleum in Kunar, told Bakhtar News Agency that the emeralds were sold to gemstone traders for 150.609 million Afghanis at an auction attended by gemstone companies.
He added that the sale was conducted in accordance with auction procedures and in the presence of the designated committee. Approximately 10 percent of the total amount was deposited into the government’s account.
