Alhaj Mohammad Arsala Kharoti, Deputy Minister for Rural Development Affairs at the Ministry of Rural Rehabilitation and Development, has urged greater precision in the surveying, design, and execution of development projects, stressing the imperative of strict adherence to approved quality standards.
In a statement issued today by the ministry’s press office, Kharoti conveyed these remarks during a meeting with a team of engineers from the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Afghanistan.
Kharoti emphasized that Afghan communities are in pressing need of expanded development initiatives, but underscored that such efforts must be implemented correctly and in full alignment with established benchmarks to ensure durable, sustainable benefits for the population.
He called on UNDP engineers to exercise meticulous care throughout every phase—from initial site assessments and technical design through to final project delivery.
In response, UNDP engineers provided an overview of their ongoing and upcoming activities, noting that they have already surveyed, designed, and executed numerous development projects across the country. They reaffirmed their dedication to continuing these efforts in close coordination with the Ministry of Rural Rehabilitation and Development.
