A national exhibition highlighting Afghan-made products and domestic goods officially opened in Pul-e-Khumri, the capital of Baghlan Province.
Speaking at the inaugural ceremony, Qari Mohammad Naim Hamkar, head of the Baghlan Department of Industry and Commerce, stated that 85 booths have been allocated to industrialists, producers, and traders. The exhibits feature a diverse array of locally manufactured items, including foodstuffs, beverages, handicrafts, agricultural produce, minerals, textiles, detergents, and various other domestic goods.
Hamkar emphasized that the exhibition is designed to bolster industrialists, fortify domestic production, champion national industries, establish viable marketplaces for Afghan products, and prominently showcase the nation’s growing production prowess. He noted that the event, organized by his department, will run for an additional two days.
Addressing the gathering, Mawlavi Abdullah Mukhtar, Governor of Baghlan, voiced strong support for investment, industrial expansion, and the broadening of economic activities within the province. Governor Mukhtar described the fair as a potent vehicle for raising the country’s production profile, refining product marketing strategies, and stimulating the national economy. He urged citizens to actively contribute to economic growth by prioritizing the purchase and use of domestically manufactured goods.
Meanwhile, Mohammad Seyar Munib, a participating industrialist, praised the initiative and called for the regular scheduling of such fairs. He stressed that consistent events are crucial to sustaining domestic production, generating improved market access, and effectively raising awareness of Afghan manufacturers’ offerings.
