Mawlavi Mohammad Yaqoob Mujahid, the Minister of Defense of the Islamic Emirate, stated in his address at the Moscow International Security Conference that Afghanistan’s foreign policy is based on neutrality, balance, positive engagement, and mutual respect with countries around the world.
At the conference, which was attended by security and defense officials from several countries, Afghanistan’s Minister of Defense emphasized that security and the economy are closely interconnected, adding that without economic and trade cooperation, achieving sustainable stability in the region would be difficult.
He said that the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan believes that security should be ensured through understanding and cooperation rather than confrontation, and that Afghanistan can play a significant role as a bridge between regional countries.
Mawlavi Mohammad Yaqoob Mujahid further added that Afghanistan is committed to ensuring that its territory is not used against other countries and is striving to expand its positive and balanced relations with all countries based on the principles of mutual trust.
He stated that the Islamic Emirate supports initiatives that promote regional cooperation, economic connectivity, trade development, and mutual benefits among nations.
He described the establishment of a professional and organized defense system in Afghanistan as one of the key objectives of the Islamic Emirate, adding that the structure is intended not only to ensure Afghanistan’s security but also to contribute to regional stability and security.
Moreover, experts believe that the participation and speeches of senior Afghan officials in international conferences can help pave the way for expanding regional engagement, economic cooperation, and strengthening political relations with various countries.
