The The New York Times has reported, citing two anonymous Middle Eastern officials, that the United States and Israel are preparing to resume possible military strikes against Iran, which could begin in the coming weeks.
According to the report, the recent military preparations by both countries are considered the most extensive since the ceasefire was established. The U.S. Secretary of Defense also stated that the Pentagon has plans for various scenarios, including options to increase forces or reduce and withdraw them if necessary.
The report adds that if Donald Trump decides to authorize an attack, there is a possibility of heavy bombing of Iranian military facilities or even ground operations aimed at securing uranium stockpiles believed to remain buried under rubble following previous strikes.
