The Mines and Petroleum Department of Panjshir has announced the launch of a licensing program for the extraction of 17 types of precious stones in the province.
Mawlavi Mohammad Qasim Amiri, head of the Panjshir Department of Mines and Petroleum, stated that licenses are now being issued for stones such as ruby, beryl, aquamarine, green garnet, crystal stone, citrine, aventurine, prasiolite, hawk’s eye quartz, chalcedony, agate, tourmaline, microcline, and moonstone.
These mineral deposits have been identified across the districts of Anaba, Rukha, Abshar, Dara, Hissa-i-Awal, Paryan, and Bazarak, the provincial capital. Extraction activities will officially commence once the licensing process is complete.
The program was authorized following approval from the Ministry of Mines and Petroleum leadership.
Amiri further noted that the cost for obtaining a license is 10,000 AFN, with an additional 15,000 AFN required as a guarantee deposit.
