Amid rising hostilities between Afghanistan and Pakistan, the European Union has urged both Kabul and Islamabad to halt all tensions and conflicts immediately.
In an official statement, the EU warned that continued clashes could severely undermine regional stability. The recent escalation began after Pakistan conducted airstrikes in Afghanistan’s Paktia and Nangarhar provinces, reportedly killing 18 civilians, according to Bakhtar News Agency.
In retaliation, the Islamic Emirate carried out coordinated operations targeting Pakistani posts, military bases, and installations along the hypothetical line. These confrontations resulted in significant casualties on the Pakistani side, with Afghan forces reportedly capturing dozens of Pakistani positions and seizing weapons.
The European Union emphasized the urgent need for dialogue and restraint to prevent further violence in the region.
