The Ministry of Public Works has announced a significant achievement in the national railway sector: during the month of Jadi 1404, approximately 699,820 metric tons of goods were transported through Afghanistan’s railway network.
This milestone highlights the growing efficiency and capacity of the nation’s rail infrastructure in facilitating the movement of goods across the country.
According to the Bakhtar News Agency, the following quantities of petroleum and other goods were imported via the national railway lines during Jadi 1404, Hairatan Railway Line, 466,328 tons. Aqeena Railway Line, 55,287 tons. Turghundi Railway Line, 87,042 tons, Khaf–Herat Railway Line, 91,163 tons. the total Import Volume, 698,795 tons
In addition, during the same period, 1,025 tons of commercial goods—including dried fruit, mineral stones, and pomegranate juice—were exported.
The Ministry of Public Works emphasized its commitment to improving conditions and providing the necessary facilities for traders to further boost transport volumes.
It’s noteworthy that during the previous month of Qaws 1404, a total of 684,102 tons of goods were transported through Afghanistan’s railway network, with 1,581 tons of exports recorded.
