Kazakhstan has expressed optimism that Afghanistan is poised to become a key player in regional development, integration, and cooperation. Officials believe that within the next five years, Afghanistan will take on a central role in fostering economic collaboration and enhancing regional connectivity.
During an interview with Samaa TV, Kazakhstan’s ambassador to Pakistan, Yerjan Kistafin, highlighted the significance of security and stability in Afghanistan. He underscored the policies adopted by the Islamic Emirate aimed at promoting regional integration and economic ties among neighboring countries.
Kistafin cited major connectivity and trade projects, such as railways and the transmission of gas and electricity, as examples of expanding trade and improving economic cooperation in the region. He noted Afghanistan’s keen interest in participating in significant regional economic and trade initiatives.
The ambassador asserted that we can expect a markedly improved situation regarding regional cooperation within the next five years. He also emphasized the deep interconnection between regional development and security, indicating that coordinated efforts among Kazakhstan, Afghanistan, Pakistan, and other neighboring countries are essential for achieving peace, prosperity, and sustainable development in the region.
