Mawlavi Qudratullah Jamal, the Deputy Minister of Information and Culture, recently met with Ilham Mammadov, the Azerbaijani Ambassador, and Tural Ismailov, the country’s consul, to discuss the expansion of economic, tourism, and cultural ties between Afghanistan and Azerbaijan.
During the meeting, Deputy Jamal remarked on the benefits of strengthened bilateral ties, emphasizing the potential for collaboration in various sectors.
Ambassador Mammadov highlighted the significant commonalities between the two countries in religious, cultural, and other domains, expressing Azerbaijan’s commitment to developing political, commercial, economic, and cultural ties with Afghanistan.
He praised the Afghan people for their cultural richness, noting that despite facing numerous challenges, the Islamic Emirate’s focus on cultural affairs is commendable. Mammadov pointed out that Azerbaijani tourists, active in media, have showcased Afghanistan’s diverse cultures, historical sites, and recreational areas to a wider audience through their platforms.
Mammadov affirmed that Afghanistan has become a safe destination for tourists after years of conflict, encouraging visitors to explore its attractions. He also mentioned Azerbaijan’s willingness to collaborate on training and capacity-building initiatives for Afghan youth through online courses.
In his remarks, Mawlavi Qudratullah Jamal stressed that progress is achieved through strengthened ties, and that enhancing economic, tourism, and cultural connections would be mutually beneficial. He called for improved media coordination between the two countries to better present Afghanistan’s security situation to the world.
Both sides concluded the meeting with a shared commitment to expanding joint cooperation.
