Afghanistan’s Railways Transport Over 66,000 Tons of Goods in a Week

The Ministry of Public Works announced that Afghanistan’s railways transported a total of 66,298 tons of goods in the past week.

The transported goods includes both imports and exports facilitated through key ports such as Hairatan, Aqeena, Turghandi, and the Khaf-Herat route.

Among the transported goods were commercial items, including oil, non-oil products, and a variety of other commodities. Additionally, 5,822 tons of commercial goods were transited and exported, predominantly featuring dried fruits, pomegranate juice, and potatoes.

The ministry highlighted that enhancing railway transportation and exports is crucial for fostering job growth, boosting national revenues, and progressing towards economic stability and self-reliance. Efforts are underway to improve conditions for traders and streamline the transfer process.

In recent weeks, the total volume of railway shipments has surged to 76,760 tons, reflecting a positive trend in Afghanistan’s trade and economic activities.
