Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs has said Turkmen authorities have promised to supply more electricity and gas to Afghanistan.
Addressing Faryab officials, Muttaqi said an agreement has been reached to connect the Andkhoy-Aqina route with Turkmenbashi seaport, which will connect Afghanistan to Russia and Kazakhstan.
“We talked a lot about this with the government of Turkmenistan. We had meetings with their ministers, with their foreign minister, with their national leader. It was agreed that the road that passes through Andkhoy and Aqina will go directly to the port of Turkmenbashi so that we can connect to Russia and Kazakhstan,” Muttaqi said.
He also mentioned that the authorities of Turkmenistan have promised to supply more electricity and gas to Afghanistan. According to him, after the establishment of the Islamic Emirate in Afghanistan, no security incidents have occurred on the border with Turkmenistan.
“We have discussed about electricity and gas. They promised that they will try to increase and deliver everywhere. This is a good achievement and it shows that the neighbors are very satisfied with us,” he said.
Muttaqi also added that in the next six months, large projects will begin in the country.
