Qalandar Ebad, acting Minister of Public Health, called the increase of the capacity of doctors in the country a priority of this ministry.

Qalandar Ebad, in a meeting with Zhao Xing, Chinese ambassador to Afghanistan, described the relations between China and Afghanistan as essential and called for bilateral cooperation between the two countries.

Sharafat Zaman Amarkhil, the spokesman for the Ministry of Public Health, said that the Chinese ambassador, in a discussion with the acting minister of Public Health, assured the cooperation of his country in the health sector.

Amarkhil said: “In this meeting, there was a discussion about improving the capacity of Afghanistan’s cadres, health personnel, and also about bilateral cooperation and sharing experiences so that we can visit China in the future.”

According to the statement of Public Health, in this meeting Qalandar Ebad talked about the reconstruction of Jamhuriat hospital with Zhao Xing.

“This increase in capacity will not happen until the machinery and equipment are advanced. There is no difference between an Afghan doctor and a foreign Indian, Pakistani, and Iranian doctor. They are all the same human being, they all have the same brain, but the one who has the tools for diagnosis and treatment certainly treats (patients) well and their treatment gets results,” said Najmussama Shefajo, a doctor.

Earlier, the acting Minister of Public Health asked for the neighbor countries’ cooperation during his trip to Pakistan in order to improve the capabilities of doctors and their training.
