Kabul – The Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan’s Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Sher Mohammad Abbas Stanikzai says in a public meeting in Kabul that humanitarian aid is not curing the pain of the Afghan people and the government should consider exporting to other countries.
Mohammad Abbas Stanikzai made the remarks at a public meeting in Kabul today Sunday and said: “Afghanistan has gained its independence after forty years and the defeat of the United States and its allies.”
He has stated that the US and its allies left Afghanistan in the dark of night and that the Taliban have been operating independently for the past four months.
The Taliban forces have provided security without receiving a salary and should be appreciated, he noted.
On the other hand, Stanikzai also commented on girls’ education and women’s rights, saying that women and girls have the right to education, but Afghanistan’s culture is different from Western countries.
Meanwhile, women have been marginalized and female students in the sixth grade have not been allowed to attend school since the takeover.
In the meantime, Stanikzai stated that every American soldier who has fought in Afghanistan is now facing psychological problems.
“The country is now free and for the first time in forty years the people of Afghanistan are free to decide their own destiny,” he said.
The remarks come as hunger, poverty, and dependence on foreign aid have risen sharply since the Taliban came to power.
Earlier, the Taliban foreign minister described the American people as a great and noble nation and called for engagement with that country.
