President Ashraf Ghani on Sunday said a clear plan about education and higher education would be announced within next two days, adding all preparations for importing goods on transit highways were in place.
A statement from the Presidential Palace Media’s office received by Pajhwok Afghan News aid that President Ghani held a video conference with governors on Saturday afternoon and discussed with them measures to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
President Ghani tasked the governors to take measures to prevent the spread of coronavirus in the country.
Ghani asked the governors to prepare their reports about agriculture products to give growers confidence.
The president said he will hold regular meetings at the zones to carry out necessary action as soon as necessary.
Pointing to the need for governors to be prepared in different risk situations, Ghani noted that all governors were empowered to carry out necessary expenditures based on a supervisory mechanism.
He directed the governors to report on agricultural output in their respective provinces in order to assure farmers that necessary support for their crops was provided.
The president added that a clear plan would be finalized in two days in education and higher education sectors.
“There is a lot of trust and coordination at different levels, we want to give the governors more competence to speed things up,” he said of governance. “Governors will focus more on health, economy and agriculture and the security sector.”
