First Vice President Gen. Abdul Rashid Dostum and Chinese Ambassador to Afghanistan Lu Jing Sung have met and discussed bilateral and regional issues, a media report said on Tuesday.
Dostum dubbed China, the most important country in global affairs and regional economic development, BNA reported.
The first vice-president said that the people of China had historic and friendly relations with the Afghan people and it had been expanding, the agency quoted him as saying.
Dostum also noted that the People’s Republic of China, besides providing economic cooperation to the people of Afghanistan and taking part in megaprojects, can play active role in the establishment of peace.
Meanwhile, Chinese ambassador assured of his country’s continued cooperation with the government and people of Afghanistan, the agency added. “Peace in Afghanistan was in the interest of all regional countries and we hope peace will be restored in Afghanistan and we will cooperate in this area,” said the ambassador.
