President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani has ordered the re-evaluation of all contracts belonging to the Ministry of Interior and has instructed the security forces to take strict actions against the violators.
The Office of the President, ARG Palace, in a statement said President Ghani issued the order during a meeting of the National Procurement Commission.
The statement further added that President Ghani has instructed the security forces to take strict legal actions against all the contractors breaching the terms and conditions of the contracts.
According to ARG Palace, President Ghani issued the order after reviewing the contract for the procurement of two types of meat for the Ministry of Interior.
Without disclosing further information, ARG Palace stated in its statement that President Ghani has instructed the relevant authorities that all contracts belonging to the ministry of interior must be revised and list of all contracts should be prepared together with the specific addresses of the contractors.
He also added that the provincial governors and security chiefs should re-evaluate the contracts and the security forces must take strict actions against the violators.
According to ARG Palace, representatives from the parliamentary commissions for budgetary and financial affairs, national economic commissions, Integrity watch Afghanistan, SIGAR, and Resolute Support also participated in the meeting.
