Deputy Foreign Minister Mirwais Nab has stress over joint efforts in fight against terrorism for greater economic prosperity and development in the region.
Addressing the 24th Economic Cooperation Organisation (ECO) meeting Nab said: “economic prosperity is directly connected with peace, & Afghanistan is fighting regional & international terrorists on behalf of the region and the world. This is a shared responsibility that must be shouldered collectively.”
He informed the participants on Afghanistan’s regional economic achievements & priorities over the past few years including major connectivity & energy projects including TAPI, CASA1000, Lapis Lazuli & more. AFG’s economic policy offers untapped opportunities for the region.
“Recent experiences show that only direct talks with the Afghan Government can lead to sustainable and dignified peace, and must start under a verifiable ceasefire as an indication of Taliban’s commitment for peace,” he added.
