Feet of snow have fallen on Salang Pass which connects Afghanistan’s northern provinces to capital Kabul.
Snow and rain has been falling in the region for the last three days, just two weeks after the start of fall.
So far, parts of Salang have received 75 centimeters of snow, Salang Pass Maintenance Directorate said on Sunday.
The authority said that chance of snowfall for the next 24 hours was 80 percent.
It also warned travellers to use chains while travelling on the highway.
