A Kabul Garrison member was killed after he was shot by Massoud Day mourners in downtown Kabul on Monday, the Ministry of Defense said in a statement.
The incident happened near Traffic Square in Kabul’s Police District 4 (PD4) while a group of young men carrying weapons and driving stained vehicles were passing through the area, the statement said.
“Six illegal armed men were arrested and at least 30 vehicles were seized following the incident,” the ministry said.
The incident happened as three people were wounded in a magnetic IED blast near Shaheed Square in in PD4, Kabul police spokesman Ferdaws Faramarz said.
He did not provide further details about the incident.
No group has claimed responsibility for the blast.
