President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani has extended heartfelt and warmest greeting to the Indian leadership and its people on the 73rd Independence Day of Indian, according to a statement on Thursday.
“On behalf of the Government and people of Afghanistan, I am delighted to extend my heartfelt and warmest greetings to President Ram Nath Kovind, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the great Indian nation on the occasion of the 73rd Independence Day of India,” Ghani said.
“As a close friend of India, Afghanistan is very keen to further strengthening its relationship and partnership with India, which rests on mutual trust between our countries and the historical bonds and enduring goodwill between our people,” the president said.
India has been a great and close friend of Afghanistan in moments of difficulty and tragedy and massively contributed to help maintain stability and security in the region and the world.
India’s impressive social and economic advancement, scientific and technological progress and cultural development have been exemplary and can serve as a model for other countries in the region and the world.
“Our relationship has a great potential in many spheres including trade, science, technology and culture.”
