Taliban Storm Hotel In Badghis; Eight Killed, Gunfight Continues

A group of “suicide bombers” entered a hotel in Qala-e-Naw, the center of the western province of Badghis, at around 12:40pm Kabul time and are fighting against security forces, the Interior Ministry’s spokesman Nusrat Rahimi said.

Rahimi said that police forces have cordoned off the area and are fighting the attackers.

The Interior Ministry’s spokesman Nusrat Rahimi said two attackers were killed and fighting continues between security forces and gunmen at the hotel in Qala-e-Naw.

Rahimi said there were totally three attackers.

Taliban claimed responsibility of the attack and said their attackers are fighting the security forces.

Taliban has claimed that they have attacked the police headquarters in the province.

Interior Ministry’s spokesman Nusrat Rahimi said that eight security force members were killed and seven others were wounded in the attack.

He said the number may rise.

Rahimi added that a number of civilians have also been affected in the attack.
